Here are some common paint sheens and their recommended applications:
Flat:
This low-sheen paint has a non-reflective finish. It’s great for low-traffic areas, such as interior walls and ceilings. Flat paint touches up well and effectively hides minor surface imperfections.
Matte:
Matte paint has a low-luster reflective finish. It’s durable, easy to clean, and also conceals minor imperfections. Use it in bedrooms and other low to moderate traffic areas.
Eggshell Enamel:
With a soft, velvety appearance, eggshell enamel works well in moderate traffic areas like living rooms. It strikes a balance between durability and aesthetics.
Satin Enamel:
This sheen has a soft pearl-like appearance and is suitable for moderate to high traffic areas. It’s ideal for spaces exposed to moisture, such as kitchens or bathrooms.
Semi-Gloss Enamel:
With a sleek, radiant appearance, semi-gloss enamel is perfect for cabinets, trim, and high-traffic areas. When using semi-gloss enamel, apply multiple thin coats for the smoothest finish.
Hi-Gloss Enamel:
Hi-gloss enamel creates a brilliant, shiny appearance with a glass-like finish. It’s excellent for high-use surfaces.

Exterior Painting
All complete exterior paint jobs include:
Step one is power washing the entire property to ensure it is clean and all loose paint is knocked off during this process. We will allow the home to completely dry out and return the following day.

Caulking is performed to fill all large gaps. If there are gaps larger than what caulking can correct, backing rod will be used.
We will mask off the windows, brick, concrete, shrubs, & anything that is not going to be painted.
Last but not least, we will apply the primer and paint according to the manufacturer’s spec.
We prefer using premium grade products but will offer budget friendly options as well and explain the difference.

Power Washing
Pressure washing your home before painting is a crucial step that offers several benefits. Let’s explore why it’s recommended:
Surface Preparation: Pressure washing removes dirt, mold, mildew, and other grime from your home’s exterior. This thorough cleaning ensures that the paint adheres properly to the surface, creating a solid foundation for your new paint job.
Enhanced Durability: A clean surface results in a nicer-looking paint job and improved durability. When you remove contaminants, the paint can bond effectively, making it less susceptible to weathering and wear.
Efficiency: While hand washing is an alternative, it’s time-consuming and labor-intensive. Pressure washing covers larger areas quickly and reaches high surfaces and hard-to-reach cracks and crevices more effectively.
Avoiding Paint Issues: Painting over dirty siding can lead to an uneven appearance, poor paint adhesion, and premature peeling and cracking. Pressure washing ensures a clean canvas for your fresh coat of paint.
6 REASONS WHY PRESSURE WASHING YOUR HOME IS IMPORTANT:
1. Prevent Damage to Your Home. Grime, dirt, moss, and other disgusting substances wreak havoc on the durability and structure of your home.
2. Save Time, Energy, And Money. Cleaning your home with a power washer stopping those nasty substances we mentioned in their tracks.
3. Boost Curb Appeal. Power washing properties with high levels of residue build-up drastically boost their curb appeal.
4. Increase Your Home’s Value. If you’re looking to sell your home soon, a quick power wash of the exterior might help raise the overall value of your home.
5. Prepare Areas for Renovation.
6. Maintain Safety and Hygiene. Built-up dirt and grime on the walkway might not seem too bad at first. But, once it rains and the area becomes slippery, it becomes a serious hazard.

Meet Me
My love for painting only grew after working for my dad’s construction company one summer. Since then, I knew I wanted to paint residential homes full time.
I grew up helping my dad build custom pieces for homeowners and doing work in our own home. My dad taught me how to use power tools, how to properly stain, paint and assemble our builds. I fell in love with the craft from a young age. I knew I would follow in my dad’s footsteps one day; I just didn’t think it would be construction related.
I have been independently painting now for 4 years. I currently offer services for residential properties. One day, I will add commercial buildings to my list. I brush and roll as well as spray. I continue expanding on my education by staying up to date with techniques, new equipment and products.
They say do what you love and love what you do. I will retire doing this work and hopefully pass on my knowledge to someone that enjoys being a blue-collar worker as much as I do.
